1970, a time when renegade and heretic Rock music evolved
from the 60's to include the huge sound of R&B, giant
Big Band horn sections, and a soul, funk and rock
enfusion defined the new musical experimentation
and experience.
Bands like Tower of
Power, Cold Blood, The Electric Flag, Sons of Champlin, the
Bay Area's "East Bar Grease" brought a sound that eventually
found a way and turned the corner into the pop charts,
with the largest pop bands such as Chicago, Blood, Sweat
and Tears, and Earth, Wind and
